"Oh Snap! Summer's Here!"
Congratulations highschool and college graduates, you've been dedicated to school this long, and you can consider this your last, most intimidating, most rewarding hurdle of your formal education! And we at the Christian Student Center most definitely wish you a warm welcome! If you plan to attend the University of Tennessee, you will quickly discover the state of Tennessee's Bermuda Triangle -- points beings Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga respectively. Hapless travelers who wander in this area quickly discover that time somehow slows, slows, slooows, and creeps to a stop until there is only one season all year 'round, that season being fall of course! Even when the leaves aren't turning, all you see is orange! And even when football's not on the field, it's secretly playing in our heads. Remember this during spring when your lab partner's eyes begin to glaze over -- guaranteed it's either a Red Bull crash or football. Well, whether it's the sports that attracted you, or some rare phenomena of university scholarship, we hope your love only grows from there.
During orientation the campus might seem all topsy-turvy, especially for one accustomed to smaller locations. But we hope on your field trip with your Orientation Leader that you;ll keep an eye out when you walk down Melrose Ave -- though, most will admit we don't really remember the tour during orientation at all. People too busy ogling over Johnny or Susie McHotface, or there were the odd few worrying about not finishing Summer Reading for College Freshman. But when you hear the phrase, "and it's believed that even Michael Jackson stayed a night here" -- quick! Look to your left! The CSC should be staring you in the face! Unless the timing's wrong, then you're probably catching a glimpse of the Presbyterian Center (which is a pretty cool place, too!). If you don't feel completely overwhelmed at the end of your extended weekend, please make sure to drop by. Rumor has it that a hearty number of CSCers are in town this summer, and you might just luck out and find a room full of us!
