Cookouts and Dinners
If there's one thing you should know about those at the CSC, it's that we love to fellowship while stuffing our faces! And there's always food for everyone (sometimes a little too much). Small groups of CSCers will often venture out on their own to yonder fields of TGI Friday's or climb the peaks of Chandler's, but here are some scheduled meals you can mark in your calendar.
Fall Cookout
During the fall, Caroline Evans from Laurel Church of
Christ normally offers up her home and time to host a cookout for CSCers, church members, and any other guest to drop by. It's nothing but UT football, friends, and amazing scenery (not to mention your own personal half-a-chicken).
Fall 2008 - Sept. 27
Cost: $0 ($5 donation appreciated)
Time: TBA
[Also "High School Weekend." Great weekend for high school students to come visit us at Knoxville! Rides to Caroline's available.]
Communion Dinner
Twice a year, the CSC plans a Communion dinner. It's a time to sit in intimate groups, share a meal, and take Communion. It's a wonderful way to share worship and give inspiration to friends.
2008 - TBA
Fish Frys and Picnics
Occassionally students at the CSC or families of the church will host a fish fry for students and guests, or Laurel will go out of their way to host a picnic in honor of -- you guessed it! -- college students! Makes sure to find your way to one of these for some great food and fellowship!
2008, UniTe picnic @ World's Fair Park - Aug. 23
Cost: $0 (donations appreciated)
Time: TBA
Participating groups: Laurel, CSC, Johnson Bible College, friends, family, visitors, strangers, (fill-in-the-blank) . . .
[Food, water fountains, giant blinding globe -- what else can you ask for?? Rides most certainly available.]
